Finance Courses
Each of courses is designed to cover a specific aspect. You can combine a few to create larger learning set for yourself.
We will use the book by Brealy, Myers and Allen as reference. All courses below are structured as 5 sessions of 90 mins each. Each course batch will be restricted to 10 participants. All sessions will be live. Cost of each course is set at INR 5000/-.
Discounting for Finance
This will include learning to NPV, IRR without excel first. You need to develop intuitive sense about data and tools which doesnt happen if you use MS Excel as a calculator. Goal is to understand basis of valuation of Stocks and Bonds. We will touch upon CAPM as discounting framework.
CAPM and Portfolio Theory
This will include CAPM and Portfolio Theory and few other alternate Discounting Methods. Corporate Finance is about quantification of Risk. For a Finance professional in any industry, having a clear foundation on this relationship, is very critical.
Financial Statement Reading and Analysis
How to read and infer from Financial Statements is important that is where you start linking theory to reality. It is also the most expected skill and perhaps the most repeated activity in corporate finance jobs. You dont need to be an accountant for this but you need to develop an eye for accounting games that are played.
Financial Modeling - DCF Valuations using CAPM
Investors value companies and stocks and assets very differently from one another. But core remains Discounted Cash Flows. There is skill and authority involved in creating projections, choosing right WACC for decision making that comes with experience but you need create valuation models that can capture a range of investor queries and help make a decision.
